Osea Island is an inhabited island in the estuary of the River Blackwater, Essex. It is approximately 380 acres in size and is connected to the north bank of the river by a causeway, covered at high water.
Recently we were asked to take the Dodgems to the Island for two private parties.
In order to do this we had to put our heads together for some creative thinking. We would need to go to Osea Island to asses which vehicles we would be able to take across the causeway.
The causeway is a long narrow road with sharp bends and many pot holes so we would need to schedule a test drive. Instead of taking one long truck for the Dodgems, we took two smaller trucks plus a vehicle to tow long trailers across one at a time. We were also restricted to get on and off the Island at low tide.
Our professional team managed to get us on and off the Island without any hiccups and both party celebrations were a success.
